Modern distance education has become the focus and trend of education technology day by day. At present, Experiment teaching, as an important part in teaching, can't be carried out well. The virtual experiment is the best choice to solve experiment teaching in the distance education. Because of the difficulty of developing, the development of the distance virtual experiment is still far from meeting the distance education's demands. The lack of a unified systematic model is one of the important reasons to this, and it also causes the phenomena of inefficiency and low frequency of code reusing in virtual experiment developing, and makes the progress slow with high costs.In order to solve the problem of lack of the unified systematic model while designing the distance virtual experiment, this thesis analyzes and constructs the model from all kinds of aspects and levels by using the Object-Oriented method and UML modeling language. The thesis not only formally defines the distance virtual experiment based on the foundation of the models, but also describes the virtual experiment process model with Object Petri Network.The whole modeling process is divided into five key steps: The first step is to analyze the distance virtual Lab system, find out the key parts of the system: virtual experiment process, and then summarize the composition of the virtual experiment process model further, which is consisted of four components: experimental operation; process of transition; experimental objection and experimental group. The second step is to construct the model of static structure of distance virtual experiment process by using class diagram and state diagram of UML, and to describe the various kinds of main objects and the relationship among them. The third step is to model its dynamic behavior by using serial diagram and activity diagram of UML, and to portray its dynamic characteristics in detail. The fourthstep is to describe formalization to the distance virtual experiment process based on models built. It makes it easy to develop virtual experiment on the computer. The fifth step is to provide a method of describing the virtual experiment process with Object Petri Network, and construct the generalization model for process of transition; atomic experiment operation and the controlling of experiment objection by Object Petri Network.In chapter seven, the thesis designs and develops a distant virtual Lab system based on the foundations of virtual Lab system model. The thesis summarizes the modeling process of the distance virtual experiment finally, and it looked gives a prospect of the designing and developing distance virtual experiment at the same time .
