In this knowledge-based society, creativity education is the major theme of the current education. Lots of systematic research on creativity is conducted in the realms of pedagogy and psychology. However, in subject in instruction, only some specific issues are dealt with by the researchers. The teaching experimental study on training creative thinking ability combined with the feature of chemistry is very rare.On the basis of the present theory of creative thinking study in the areas of pedagogy and psychology, integrated with the practice of chemistry teaching in secondary school, this article analyzes the components of creative thinking ability in chemistry, brings forth the training modes and implementation strategies , and deals with an experimental study. The 80 students of second-grade were divided into two groups: experimental group and monitoring group in the experiment, and received one year of systematic training by using the program titled "Chemical Creative Thinking Training Instructing book for Secondary Students" which was compiled by the author. The results prove that:1. In the regular chemistry teaching, the students' chemical creative thinking ability can be remarkably improved if teachers consciously conduct instruction in training students' creative thinking.2. Chemical creative thinking ability of students among the students of differentintelligence levels can be obviously improved .But there is no distinct disparity between the different intelligence levels.3. The results are obviously different among the students of different knowledgebackground. In chemical creative thinking, the improvement of the students which fall into lowest grades group is obviously most remarkable in three grades group, But, the difference is not obvious in high grades group and medium grades group.So, it is very necessary to improve the students' creative thinking ability combined with the features of subjects. In the regular teaching, the students' chemical thinking ability will be greatly improved and their creativity potential will be developed if teachers consciously conduct the training on chemical thinking ability.
