Analysis Of The Current Situation And Research On The Development Of Volleyball Reserve Forces In Liaoning Province

Volleyball is the only one of the three big balls that has won the world champion in China, which once had substantial mass foundation and abundant reserve forces. In recent years, however, the volleyball is in depression and its position has been descending in the world ranking. It is advocated to probe into the big gap between China and the advanced nations in volleyball from the perspective of the reserve forces. Liaoning province is rich in the reserve forces which has infused great many volleyball talents for the country. The thesis, based on strategies of interview, questionnaire and documentation, elaborates on the present situation of volleyball reserve forces in Liaoning province from such aspects as the distribution of young volleyball athletes, the condition of their height, training, match participation, selection and the management, etc. It concludes that a few problems exist in the reserve forces as follows: inadequacy of young athletes in number, ill-distribution of the reserve forces in different regions, the average condition of player's physical quality and basic skills, few chances of attending the match, bad selection of athletes in some amateur schools and worse facilities for training as well. In order to open a new prospect for training volleyball reserve forces and furthering the system of training them, the thesis puts forward some measures to broaden the channel of training reserve forces, enlarge the number of young athletes, improve the training strength and coaches' ability, and select the young athletes in a scientific way. It provides useful information for improving the situation of training volleyball reserve forces of Liaoning and other provinces.
