Horse vaulting is one of the important competitive gymnastics events. However, it is a weak event for both Shanxi province and China. There are many problems existing in the difficulty of movements, performance, landing stability, etc. According to the development of horse vaulting, the arab spring back handspring vaults is a developing direction, a key trend, playing an important role in competition. Based on the method of document, interview and biomechanical analysis, taking examples of four Chinese elite gymnasts: Deng Shaojie, Zhang Ruoping. Su Liya, and Wang Lu, this paper makes comparison analysis on the movements of their arab spring back handspring in running up, take-off jump, hand-pushing, and second buckjump, and finds out their technical features. And by comparing Chinese and foreign elite gymnasts' movements of arab spring back handspring, we find their drawbacks: (l)They run up comparatively slowly; (2)Their knee joint anklebone don't stretch well in the footplate period; (3) Their shoulder and arm's explosive force is imperfect in hand-pushing period. All these cause the angle of pushing too small, affect the height of second buckjump, and finally influence the performance of horse vaulting. This paper aims at providing the theoretical basis for take-off jump and hand-pushing technique in women's horse vaulting, serving for the improvement and perfection of their techniques, and furthermore promoting the skills of horse vaulting for both Shanxi province and China.
