High efficiency,high reservation and big heart of athlete's heart have been paid attention in competitive sports. Furthermore exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy has been researched for long time. Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) as cardiovascular regulating factors,whether they participate in process of exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy or not, Which isn't reported in China. The purpose of this study was to explore the molecular mechanism of athlete's myocardial hypertrophy by observation of the change of rat gene expression of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) during the process of exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy.This study adopted RT-PCR technique to observe the change of express of gene of rats' ANP and BNP during 11 week's moderate intensity endurance training; in the training process of 3rd day , 10th day , 24th day , 38th day and 77th day, the expression situation of atrial and ventricle ANP mRNA and BNP mRNA of experimental group was carried on the comparing against with peaceful control group. The results showed that the cardiac coefficent increased remarkably (P<0.01) after 24 days training, which suggests myocardium hypertrophy happened. Myocardium ANP mRNA and BNP mRNA up-regulated during the endurance, ventricle BNP mRNA up-regulated very significantly (p<0.01) in the 24th day, up-regulated further in 38th day, and slow to up-regulated somewhat afterwards 77th day, nevertheless, remarkably be more than the control group. Compared with control group, it is unobvious that atrium BNP mRNA up-regulation, yet also possesses tendency to promote. Ventricle ANP mRNA merely shows up-regulation significantly in the 3rd day, and there is no remarkably difference compared with control group during other days, but also possesses the tendency to heighten. In conclution, the expression of gene of rats' myocardium ANP shows no chrono -phase and regularity during the endurance training, moreover, there is discrepancy between expression of myocardium ANP and cardiac hypertrophy. Atrial ANP mRNA up-regulated significantly (P<0.01) in the 3rd day during the training, which suggests ANP hasworked during the early-period of training, but this experiment has not found the change, further study is still needed.Ventricle BNP mRNA expression promoted during the endurance training, and the up-regulation of ventricle BNP mRNA increase gradually and then decrease with the prolonged training, which suggested the change of BNP mRNA has chrono-phase, as not only suggests BNP has worked during the process of myocardium hypertrophy but also suggested the mechanism of myocardiac hypertrophy is different according to different parts, different functional structures and different developing periods during the process of cardiac remodeling.
