This study examined the reliability and validity of the self designed "Middle school students' beliefs of Knowledge and Knowing questionnaires" at first, the results showed that the questionnaires is a useful tool in researching the beliefs of Knowledge and Knowing for middle school students. Then it investigated the middle school students' beliefs of Knowledge and Knowing by using the scaling method. The results indicate that: the beliefs of knowledge and knowing of middle school students are overly constructive; Differences occur in the dimensions of the beliefs of knowledge and knowing among students of different sex and also among the students major in liberal arts and sciences; the beliefs of knowledge and knowing of junior middle school students are more constructive than the senior middle school students; there' re remarkable differences at the dimensions of beliefs of knowledge and knowing among the students of different performance; the beliefs of knowledge learning process, the beliefs of knowledge value , the beliefs of the attitude of knowledge learning are all the valid predictive variables for the academic performance of middle school students. Based on the mentioned results, teachers are required to set up a constructive beliefs of knowledge and knowing and implement it in teaching, attach importance to the transformation of the beliefs of knowledge and knowing of low performance students and offer the more comprehensive exercise for the students in order to make them enjoy the learning.
