As a special component of the Chinese higher education system, minorities colleges are faced with many challenges during its current reform. The faculty build-up is the key factor for its survival and development. In accordance with the special requirements for the faculty in minorities colleges and the theory of human resource, this thesis expounds the necessity for the faculty build-up in these colleges. By studying the history and the historical findings of faculty build-up, the thesis first provides a thorough analysis on the problems and weakness that lie in the faculty build-up, then digs out reasons behind these problems. The thesis holds that the outdated concepts, insufficient funds, poor academic environment, low payment and lagged administration system are main reasons for the weak faculty in minority colleges and for the unreasonable structure of academy, faculty age and degree levels. On this basis, after studying substantial advanced faculty build-up experiences of many domestic and international higher institutions and considering the faculty reality of these colleges, this thesis presents some policy advices and corresponding countermeasures for reinforcing the faculty build-up in minorities colleges. The thesis suggests that when in making policies we should firstly change the old traditional ideas on faculty build-up as held by leaders of different levels, faculty administrators and teachers. Secondly, we should strengthen the faculty training in political consciousness, national policies and national unity, cultivate young teachers, academic leaders and some ethnic teachers, and improve the educational levels of the faculty.Meanwhile, we should improve and reform the current faculty administration system, making innovations in the staff promotion and employment, inspiration and restriction, position valuation and legal system construction, therefore better the administration effects.
