A Study On The Improving Of Student Representatives Work In College

The student representatives are a particular group among college students; not only do they play specific role over the political and ideological education, the education management, student's self service and self education. They also influence all those areas of college life. Building a high quality student's representation is a long term fundamental project in college student work.Since the establishment of the socialist economical system and the reforms in higher education, in the 1990's, the environment of students' management at college has changed greatly. In order to meet the demand of this new situation we need to expand the college student representative group.This paper will base its ideas on the "Three stand-fors" and the "Scientific Development" theories. Other philosophical, sociological, political and historical theories will also be mentioned in this paper. The main focus will be on researching the areas of college student's representatives which can be improved on. The three different parts will discuss in greater detail why, where and how to improve this particular aspect of student life.The first part of this essay will discuss the importance of the representatives group in student's college life. The management work of higher education faces two challenges, which are, the socialist market economy and the higher education reforms. To deal with those challenges we need to realize the function and the role these representatives have among students. It gives the answer why we should improve the students representativework by the following, it's the need of the aim of higher education, as well as, the need of education reforms and development, and the need of maintaining a good and orderly campus life and culture.The second part analyzes the current situation of the student's representatives. After reviewing past achievements, and inaccuracies, we can look at the reasons why some problems remain to this day.The third and last part will discuss how to improve the areas of the student's representation. Based on the realization of the importance of student representatives' work and its current situation, it gives the solution to the improvement of the work, through understanding, the goal and content, the system and mechanism, the channel and method. That is to say, change the idea and unify the understanding, define the goal and take the whole content into account, perfect the system and amplify the mechanism, build the position and enhance the substantial results.
