This research studies the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of 247 P.E. teachers in colleges and universities in some provinces of our country. The questionnaire of job satisfaction is conducted by Institute of Psychology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and The questionnaire of organizational commitment is edited by Meyer & Allen, and modified by HU Wei-peng. The two questionnaires adopted the score of Likert 5-points. Statistical tool of SPSS is adopted to analyse the investigation results by One-Way ANOVA, correlation and regression. The purpose of the present research is to explore the actuality, the impacting factors of job satisfaction and the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment for the teachers. The main results are as follows:1. The condition of the job satisfaction of P.E. teachers is not good. 2. The factors which have played a role on job satisfaction are respect , work conditions, participating decision-making, recognizing, reward, work relationship. 3. The each dimension of job satisfaction and affective commitment and normative commitment is correlative significantly; growth and development, work conditions, total satisfaction and continuance commitment is correlative significantly. 4. Excluding the influence of the demology variables, the effect of job satisfaction on organizational commitment was done, which indicated satisfaction had significant predictive effects on commitment; recognizing, reward, respect , participating decision-making, total satisfaction had significant predictive effects on affective commitment; growth and development, work relationship had significant predictive effects on continuance commitment; recognizing and total satisfaction had significant predictive effects on normative commitment.
