This research was carried out to determine the high school teachers’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels in Golbasi district of Ankara,Turkiye and to determine whether there is a significant difference between these levels according to personal and demographic characteristics of the teachers.The research consists of five chapters.The problem situation,the importance and purpose of the research,its limitations,assumptions and definitions were discussed in the first chapter.In the second chapter,the concepts of job satisfaction and organizational commitment in education were introduced in depth within the scope of the theoretical framework.In the study,organizational commitment in education was handled in three dimensions as affective,continuance and normative commitment.In the third chapter,the method of the research was mentioned.The data collection tool in this research,which was based on the survey model,was a questionnaire consisting of demographic information that determined the personal characteristics of the employees,the Minnesota job satisfaction scale and the organizational commitment scales developed by Allen and Meyer.In the fourth chapter,data anaysis was figured.Data were anaysed in both qualitative and quantitative way.Descriptive statistics were used to describe responses that obtained from questionnaires.In this study,it was recommended that new and fair arrangements should be done by the Ministry of Education about management issues,appointment of principles,implementation of a new career system,bonification of teachers’ salary and quality improvements of working conditions of teachers.
