A new round of reform on the primitive education is carried out nationwide. This reform makes itself remarkable in respect of the construction of the standard of the new courses and the implement of them. At the new latitude, the new courses aim at the preliminary development of innovative passion, abilities in practice, scientific and human accomplishment and the sense of environment of students. They also aim at the preliminary development of basic knowledge, skills and methods of students which benefit them lifelong. They emphasize to change the actuality of overemphasizing accepting knowledge, learning and practice by rote, and advocate students of the initiatively participation, ready inquire and industrious action. They foster the abilities to collect and process information, to obtain new knowledge, to analyze problems and solve them, and to communicate and cooperate with others.Chemistry is an experimental based discipline. Laboratorial teaching is of great significance to inspire the students' interest in learning, to help them form chemistry concepts, to attain chemistry laboratory skills, to cultivate the character to be practical and realistic, to develop the serious and earnest attitude in scientism and to train the scientific methodology. It also lead a unique role in develop students' acuity in observation and skills in experiments. In a word, it is a very important approach of enhancing laboratorial teaching to improve teaching impression in chemistry.It is urgent to implement the reform in laboratorial teaching on high school chemistry in the new ages. Continuous efforts in future laboratorial teaching will be focused on such aspects as supplements in content, liveliness in form, emphasis in abilities and communication with the society. The simple experiment at home is a good outset of the reform in laboratorial teaching.An issue is brought forward based on the analysis of the characteristics of thetraditional laboratorial teaching in high school chemistry and its disadvantages. How will the chemistry teachers cope with the great change in the new textbook? Seventeen pieces of experiment at home were added into the senior high school chemistry textbook of testing revision.In this book, the characteristics of the simple experiment at home as well as the theoretic foundation to implement of it is analyzed focused on the issue raised above and associated with the standards of new courses. The importance of the simple experiment at home is pointed out based on the integration of both the questionnaire survey and the experimental research. There are some in-depth discussion and detailed practicable approaches upori how to carry it out. We hope it to be of some help to the teaching of high school chemistry teachers.
