Using our PEP high school chemistry textbook of?Compulsory 1?and?Compulsory 2?,the US mainstream science high school chemistry textbook of?Chemistry Concepts and Applications?,the British high school chemistry textbook of?IGCSE Chemistry?,Canadian high school chemistry textbook of?Chemistry 11?and Japanese high school Chemistry textbook of?Chemistry ??as the research objects.Using literature research,comparative research method,content analysis and case study.At the macro level,analysising of six textbooks architecture,statisticsing and analysising to the development of reading material styles and characteristics;At the micro level,it is a typical case of the development of reading materials of each textbook in comparative analysis,and putting forward some opinions and suggestions to high school chemistry textbooks in our country.Studies show that compared with China's PEP high school chemistry textbook,foreign chemistry textbooks' content structure is complete,there is a problem and set up network links;Pay attention to situations and problems of guidance;Content selection is not only STSE,but also occupational,political,economic,cultural and other aspects of education;A variety of pictures,design is very beautiful.To compare the differences in the development of reading materials in the multi national senior high school chemistry textbooks,which is of some references to the compilation of the development of reading materials in the future.
