The paper discusses the theory of task-based language teacliing and its teaching model and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages on practical application in ELT classroom. The study puts forward a hypothesis that it is better for students to enhance their integrated linguistic competence when task-based language teaching are properly used in the traditional setting.There are live parts in this paper. The first part discusses the situation of English teacliing in China and brings forward the question discussed in this paper: How to make task-based language teacliing facilitated in ELT classroom. The second part illustrates rhe definitions of tasks and the components in English language teaching. It discusses its scientific ideas from a cognitive perspective and analyzes the teaching procedure. The third part sets out form the situation of the language teaching, and then analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the task-based language teaching model in ELT classroom. At last a teaching method which combines task activities and traditional teaching is produced and an experiment is implemented. The fourth part analyzes the results of the experiment and discusses the validity of task-based language teacliing in the traditional setting. And then states the merits and problems in the experiments and gives some suggestions. The fifth part states that even,' teaching method has its own advantages, It's advisable to develop and change it according to the practical situation rather than copy the foreign teaching method in a blind haste...
