| What's the essence and function of geography curriculum? What's the significance of the use for reference of geography curriculum reformation in Hong Kong, Taiwan and abroad? What kind of development process has our geography curriculum come through? What revelation has it bought to us? What development stratagem over the century has our country mapped out on geography curriculum ? How to constitute geography curriculum system of our province and how to develop school-based geography curriculum related to Geography Curriculum Standard of our country? All these problems are closely linked with geography education in our province. I have thought deeply about the problems above.As a provincial geography teaching and research teacher, I have fallen across the critical period of the reform of geography curriculum in our country and our province during the 20 years of geography teaching and research. I have passed through the stage when it developed vigorously during the decade of 1980s and 1990s. I also came by the stage of bridgeable development at the turn of the century. I should say I have testified and participated the reform of geography curriculum in our country and our province during the 20 years of geography teaching and research. Nevertheless, from the angle of our province, how to construct geography curriculum with provincial characteristic, it is the new project that our geography educators must face.This thesis has shown the value of geography elementary education and the necessity of geography curriculum reformation from the view of geography curriculum reformation, by analyzing the background of it. It has put forward the essential train of thought of constructing geography new curriculum in our province combing the notion and the aim developed by New Middle School Geography Curriculum Standard. Namely, constructing the curriculum system of triplicity, realizing three-class management, making proper use of the resource of geography curriculum in our province and develop it, constructing geography teaching materials with local characteristics of our province. Meanwhile, this thesis has gone deep into the research on the development of school-based geography curriculum, the significance of the school-based curriculum, the principle and approach of editing the school-based curriculum.The realistic significance of this study is that it will further improve the implement, the management and the evaluation of geography curriculum in our province. It will play a scientific guidance role in the three aspects. |
