How will China's child music education become modernized? How to design child's future? What kind of life should child choose to live? These are hot questions among educators, teachers, parents and children at home and abroad nowadays. American psychologist Howard Gardner broke through the traditional theories on language and logical intelligence to establish a new substantial theory known as Multiple Intelligence. Since 1990s, people have been groping for the theory's actual exertion in education field while praising it highly.Many primary schools around the world, like Qiyi in America, Yage in Taiwan and Baposa Chinese-Portugal School in Macao, are trying Multiple Intelligence Theory to direct their teaching practice.The theory ensures music as one of the existence forms of human intelligence and music intelligence as the first appearance of individual inherence. However, the proper development of music intelligence depends on the living and educational environment, i.e., on the penetration of multiple intelligence of children, which is because the individual personality is rich and colorful. We can use the existing achievement and experience on child music education for reference of China's music education.This thesis begins from the analyze of the usage of Multiple Intelligence Theory in child music education. It will focus on the importance of children's separate interest, hobbies and characteristics, and the free exertion of their individual personality in order to illustrate a teaching method that will enhance children's independence and activity, and offer them a room for their performance and creativity. In music education, children ought to get all kinds of potentialities developed andexperience success in learning music and thus boost their growth in a healthy and harmonious way physically and psychologically.
