Research And Practice On Professional Cultivation Scheme Of Undergraduate Course In Horticulture

This paper makes the survey and study of the background , current situation and development of the undergraduate course in horticulture, basis on the demand of professional horticulture personnel under the circumstances of the society market economy development and the horticulture industrilization. The study insists on regarding the course building as the leader, teacher's training and improvement as the breakout, the coursescientific research as the basis, professional test-point study as the platform. This study gives impetus to the reforms of teaching methods heavily, using scientific research to cause the major's development, using teaching reforming to get high teaching's quality, strengthening major's strength and vitality, improving major's teaching and educational quality, in order to fit the 21th horticulture's teaching content and system, for training the newer horticulture major students with the following comprehensive characteristics, " deeper basis knowledge, wide bore knowledge, good ability, high quality, wide adjustment" , using the principles as " adapting the changes well, catching up of the emphasis well, mechanism creation, quality training ", using the operation mechanism as " strengthening leading and management, the rule of major's person in charge, the mixture of major building and course development, the check-up and evaluation system's quantitinization, the summariztion and practical examination ". Then the study makes the professional cultivation scheme's research, substantiation and perfection. Through the test-point research, the study proves that the major's experiment's level, the development of ht practice base in and out of school, teacher's teaching level and ability, the teaching course's development, all have become better and stronger basically than ever. The major's comprehension strength has got a bigger development. With the evaluation from the national authentic institution in 2002 and in 2003, the horticulture major of SDAU was the number one throughout the whole nation. After the special training under the direction of this cultivation scheme, the students comprehensive quality and characteristics training both have been getting better and better.
