The professional identity of kindergarten teacher is their whole remarks on their own professional significance. From the aspect of teacher developmental course, the teacher professional identity is multiple, complex and dynamic. The course of teacher professional development is also the process of formation, maintenance and transference of teacher professional identity. It has become one of the heated topics of modern preschool education to promote the professional development and improve the professional competence of kindergarten teacher. The exploration of kindergarten teacher professional development from the perspective of their professional identity could not only enrich the related theories of teacher professional development, but also put forth some productive suggestions to the reforms of our kindergarten teacher education and vocational training.The present research adopts the method of narrative inquiry. A kindergarten teacher, Madam Shen, and her stories of professional identity are used as the case of study to analyze the implications and to reveal the continuously evolving process of kindergarten teacher professional identity. The dissertation attempts to represent the individual teacher professional identity from six aspects of developmental course, teacher-child relationship, works on parents, support from leaders, cooperation among colleagues and prospects; In such representation, the growing course of individual teacher is analyzed to put forth the hypothesis of the professional developmental routes of kindergarten teacher: taking lessons from individual experience, reflective learning, vocational education and training; And at the same time, the influential factors of kindergarten teacher professional development is also investigated from the aspects of self-image, professional preparation, vocational motives, teaching practice and prospects.
