Current researches about male kindergarten teachers are mainly focused on their value for children's development theoretically and the social facts that impact their survival. The problem that how to promote professional development of male teachers based on the kindergarten has been ignored. View to this, taking a male kindergarten teacher as a case who has been working for three years and plan to achieve the individual development , this paper aims to investigate male kindergarten teacher's professional development by narrative inquiry.The preface of this paper analyses the reasons why the number of male teachers is reducing all the time on the basis of theoretical study and present the problems which this paper are interested in, that is: (1) how male teachers in the kindergarten gain professional development, (2) what key factors affect male teacher's growth? (3) how to accelerate male kindergarten teachers' professional development?Chapter one expatiated upon the theories of phases and factors about teacher professional development, especially for male kindergarten teacher. Chapter two explained what's narrative inquiry and why this approach was chosed in this paper.Chapter three,four ,five narrated the phases of MR Z's growth. According to his unforgettable events, the paper attemps to prove up how the male teacher achieve development in the practice of the kindergarten.The last chapter is the part of conclusion and advice. On the basis of MR Z's story and his working situation, the paper finds out the key factors which accelerated his professional development including driving force of individual development, the supervisor of kindergarten and culture. According to the investigation of the case, some suggestions are given to improve male kindergarten teacher development: (1) overcoming the limitation on male teacher's development;(2) taking anti-tradition measure for male teacher in the kindergarten;(3) to establish effective system for bringing up male teachers. At last, the shortage of this paper and some advices for further study were mentioned.
