On Construct Of Grid-Idea Based Curriculum Resource Repository System

With the development of online education and the process of current curriculum reform of foundational education in our country, the curriculum resource is playing a more and more important role. However, because of the long time insufficient attention to the development of the curriculum resource and the management of the existed curriculum resources, now the curriculum resource has the characteristics of small in quantity, high repetitive rate, scattered distribution and low utilization ratio. As a result, the curriculum reform is now facing with the dilemma of curriculum resource lack.In order to enable the curriculum reform to get rid of the dilemma, in our opinion, to construct a resource repository system, which can collect abundant high quality curriculum resources and is easy to use, is a feasible solution. There are a great number of educational resource repository systems. However, because of their close resource management policies: resource gathering and resource storing are the system builder's own business, none of the existed ones can satisfy the need. Thus, to meet the need, it is necessary to import new technology and to improve the resource management policy. Grid technology realizes the resources sufficiently shared through opening the resource management policy. We believe that to construct a resource repository system accord with the need, to import the grid technology into the repository system construction could be taken into account.The grid technology, relatively has been maturely used to share the computer hardware resources with computing grid system and data grid system. The method to share the curriculum resources is not the same as that to share the computer hardware resources. And as to the detail functions of their systems, there are also differences. After analyzing the functions of the needed curriculum resource repository system, referring to the computing grid system and data grid system, we constructed a grid-idea based curriculum resource repository system, which consists of Resource Node, WEB Server, Resource Information Management Server, and Resource Server.
