As an important impotent part of college sport educational professional teaching, volleyball teaching is a compulsory course. In the recent years, volleyball teaching that requires higher technology meets with many difficulties, because the number of the university students is increasing quickly and students have different sport experiences intelligent and ability. Through investigating some students majoring in the sport education, it is found that some of them who contact volleyball the first time are nervous or have fear psychology, which has a bad effect on the students'interest in studying volleyball. Moreover because of college course reform, volleyball school hour is decreased considerably. So it is more difficult for students to reach a certain technical level in limited school hour. Therefore how to develop the students interest in volleyball in the limited time and thus to raise their scores has become a worthwhile research program in present volleyball teaching. The invention and adoption of "soft volleyball"has brought good news to the volleyball-teaching workers as well as the learners who have no foundation of volleyball. Be soft and light, it suits the volleyball beginners to study in the initial stage. Therefore, as a new sport form, the technical, tactical teaching of soft volleyball has become new hot spot of present school volleyball teaching. At the same time, it has been one of the major parts of professional research during recent years. By applying the teaching strategy of "soft volleyball"to the initial stage of volleyball teaching this paper tries to discuses the validity and feasibility of volleyball teaching for sports education major students. This aims at widening the learning bore of students who major in sport education. What'more, it can provide a kind of new train of thought and new channel for volleyball teaching. Because this paper can offer certain theory and practice basis, students can master two volleyballs technical and soft volleyball can be developed extensively. By using the methods of questionnaire investigation, documentary, mathematical statistics, expert conversation and experimental methods, this article makes statistics of handling for the teaching effect about the differences between the soft volleyball and volleyball. This article results from the questionnaire investigation for 4-class students.
