This thesis aims at analyzing the connotation of humanities education and the present situation in Higher Vocational School. Besides, it explores the way to fulfill the humanities education in Higher Vocational School.Firstly, the thesis analyses the meaning of humanities from derivation both in oriental culture and western culture. Then it reviews the history of humanities education. After these analyses, it defines the meaning of humanities education. Macroscopically, it imparts the humanity knowledge to students, training their humanity quality and spirit. Microscopically, it is the human shaping education program through the humanities environment. From the theory of value, science and humanities are connected closely; they are consistent and can't be divided.Since all the countries have the competition in talent, the development of new and high technology, the function of humanity factors in innovation, the talent need of market economy, Higher Vocational School must implement humanities education. Humanities education includes three aspects, humanity knowledge, humanity thought and humanity spirit. Humanities education doesn't gain material, and it has the feature of critique, openness, fusion and network. It helps students to widen their outlook, enlighten intelligence, and improve the level of thinking. Moreover, it helps students form the integrated personality and establish their spirit hometown. It also can support and lead the technology education. Nowadays, the humanities education receives the certain recognition, but there are still some problems. Displays in these aspects: focus more on technology than humanity, scarcity of humanities education in professional education, humanities courses are lack and tend to politics; the students are not highly-qualified graduates. There are some reasons. Detailed professional education and the thought to pursue the material cause the separation between the modern technology and the humanities education. The promotion of industry education dissimilates the humanities education. There are still some misunderstanding areas exists in the cognition of humanities education. One is to equate the humanities education to the humanities knowledge education. The other one is to ignore the humanity spirit in science education.In the last part, it raises three ways. Humanities subjects are the basic courses toteach hum anities education. The key factor is to combine professional education with humanities education. To face the career life is the vane of humanities education.Humanities education is a long process because of the dormant feature. So, during the teaching process, it should focus on the students' continual development and prohibits its eager for quick success and immediate gain.
