With the rapid development of the Internet in the society, the network technology leads to the global culture. At the same time, the campus-network is fast emerging in universities. It greatly expands the interactive space of the college students. It is necessary to study the network interactivity of college students, which can be used to develop the ideology education. The thesis collected the materials through the questionnaire survey, individual case interview and literature in Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It used the descriptive analysis of single-variable,the analysis of factor and the linear regression analysis of multi-variable based on the related theories of sociology and social psychology. How about the computer-mediated communication of the college students? How does computer-mediated communication affect the modern consciousness of the college students? How about the advantages and disadvantages of the ideology education using network? This study was designed to answer these kinds of questions. Firstly, the study indicates that the network was widely used by the college students. They prefer the network-based interactivity very much; Most of them enjoy the computer-mediated communication; The Baiyun BBS is the most favorite site of the HUST college students. Secondly, the study indicates that the network interactivity help to build up the modern consciousness of the college students, such as the independent consciousness, participative consciousness and ideation. Thirdly, the study indicates that the ideology education should make full use of the network because it has more advantages than disadvantages. It can not only do well with basic affairs, but also solve the ideology and passion problems. It will coexist with the traditional ideology education approach. They are complementary for each other. Finally, the study gives some suggestions about the ideology education through network. We should follow the directions of the central government, emphasizing the ideology education utilizing the network technology. We also need strong network management systems and rules. In addition, an example university with good network ideology education experience should be set up. Only by pulling the technology together with the ideology education, having the specialized and experienced ideology education workers and introducing the commercial running mechanism to the construction of the campus network, can network-based ideology education be developed better.
