Multimedia course-ware is widely used in classroom teaching. Now most study about Multimedia course-ware is epistemological and empirical, which only tells teachers what they should do when teaching with multimedia course-ware in the classroom , but doesn't show them why they should do like that. The Multimedia course-ware is seldom used and made from students' learning and their psychology.Based on the results of the investigation by questionnaire and a series of miniature teaching tests under two scenes: traditional teaching and the teaching using Multimedia course-ware, this research has made a preliminary study of how Multimedia course-ware affects students' learning chemistry from four respects: factual materials apperceiving, information encoding, thinking form, knowledge usage. These conclusions have been obtained from the research: 1.Multimedia course-ware conforms to the study of concrete concept, through which students can find some specific characteristics by watching the micro-world directly. This can help students form selectivity perception when learning microscopic concept and chemical principle theory.2.The simulated experiments affects not only the students' perfect awareness of chemistry experiment but also their interest in it because the simulated experiments' mode of presentation provided by Multimedia course-ware is simple and the students can't be aware perfectly of the experiment and impressed in the real operation.3.The difference between Multimedia course-ware and what the students have grasped has some influence on the students differentiating the characteristics of information and extracting their knowledge, and so affects the students' information encoding. 4.The visual materials which Multimedia course-ware displays affectstudents' thinking form. The students use the visual thinking mainly in the learning process ,which is detrimental to developing the students' abstract and logical thinking.5. Multimedia course-ware has some effect on chemistry learning process, but as long as the right understanding built up, the influence on knowledge usage and its migration is not greatly.
