The Challenge That Knowledge-oriented Education Will Face And Our Countermeasures

Knowledge-oriented Tropism is a mode to choose knowledge, which pays more attention on logic and frame of subject. Knowledge-oriented Education is a mode to choose education, which causes concept of education to shrink and equals knowledge-imparting to education. Knowledge-oriented Education is taking the opinion that knowledge is the aim of instruction. And it has dominated school education since traditional society. In the long term, Knowledge-oriented Education has developed many disadvantages, which are insisting department instruction, the hard and old course, to emphasize take-in learning mode and training by rote.However, all of these disadvantages are not key matters which are bringing challenge to Knowledge-oriented Education. It' s the background of Information Age that brings challenge to it. Because there are so many important transformations have taken place in Information Age, which make the outstanding of school to change. And to challenge the traditional belief that knowledge is the only aim of instruction.The challenges have come from many aspects. For example, the popular high-education, the knowledge popularization, the changed view to knowledge, the changed view to study, thedifferent identity of teacher and student, etc. The challenges are aiming at student, teacher, and school, for the three factors are the elements of education. To meet the new time and new background of society, the three factors need to change the traditional belief of education which thinking knowledge as the aim, so that they could win the challenge.To change the aim of instruction is an important countermeasure that we choose. The new aim will be different from the old one, which only to pursue knowledge. It is composed of three dimensions, which are knowledge departing, ability growing, and judgments developing.
