Through the experiments of heart and lungs exercise testing under specific physiological load, this research tests the cardio pulmonary function level of both the CUBA male athletes of Hunan province and the students majoring in Basketball of the Exercise Department of HNU, evaluates and analyzes the oxygen metabolism function of the CUBA male athletes of Hunan province, and provides theoretical guidance for the CUBA trainers and athletes in the universities, thus helping them to plan their training and matches effectively.Research Technique: By developing the method of progressively increasing physiological load on a running board and using CORTEX and its h/p/cosmos high speed running board, we tested 12 CUBA male athletes of several universities in Hunan province and 12 students Who major in Basketball of the Exercise Department of HNU, recorded the experimental data of (?) O2max, VE, HR, O2-pulse, (?)O)2max PD, etc, and carried on the statistical analysis - independent sample T examination of experimental data recorded at the time of reaching VT and (?) O2max - by the use of SPSS 11.5. The results show that the function levels, such as (?)O2max, VE and O2 at the time of reaching VT9 O2-pulse at the time of reaching (?) O2max, are significantly different between the CUBA athletes and the students who major in basketball. The results demonstrate the following conclusions:1. When reaching VE, there is a high significant difference(P<0.001) in the V02 level, as well as very significant differences(P<0.01) in the level of VE and O2-pulse, between HunanCUBA athletes and the normal students majoring in basketball. And the levels of VE and O2-pulse of Hunan CUBA athletes are remarkably higher than those of the normal students majoring in basket when reaching VE. There are still some other indexes show some difference, however, they have no statistical meanings.2. When the exercise reaches the xr O2max, there are high significant differences (P<0.01) in VO2, RQ and LOAD between Hunan CUBA athletes and the normal students majoring in basketball, whereas differences in other indexes have no statistical meanings. The t O2max of CUBA athletes is 4.31 ± 0.89L/min, RQ is 1.07 ± 0.09, and the exercise load is 385 + 60.74w.3. The absolute value of the t^O2max of Hunan CUBA athletes is 4.31 ± 0.69L/min, and the relative value of it is 49.97 ± 5.90, which are significantly different from those of athletes of boating and Iron Man Triathlon, are close to those of the excellent adult basketball athletes, , swimmings road cycling > football > middle &long-distance race> track and field sports etc sports, however, are not as good as those of the sport athletes of Soviet Union.
