2008 Beijing Olympic Games is to be a historic event. It is remarkable for its emphasis on entironment, science and technology as well as on humanism. Thereinto, humanism plays a key role in successfully running the Olympic Games. Needless to say, moral construction, especially the construction of agonistic morality, is essential to perfecting humanism in Olympic Games.Since there is a lack of systematic and in-depth study on agonistic morality, this thesis aims to carry out a relatively systematic exploration into the relations between 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the construction of agonistic morality by means of literature review, comparative study and systematic analysis. The findings are as follows:1 Both the ancient Olympic Games and the modern Olympic Games are abundant in rich moral values, which represents that people are in favor of truth, kindness and beauty.2 As a social phenomenon, Olympic Games is interdependent and mutually interactional with the social politics, economics and culture.3 One of the principal reasons for the deviation of agonistic morality is the dissimilation of people's viewpoints caused by the operation of the mercantile and vocational Olympics. Therefore, it is crucial to enhance the construction of vocational morality among the related persons such as the athletes, coaches and referees.4 2008 Beijing Olympic Games enriched by the traditional Chinese culture together with its contained morality can reinforce the theoretical construction of Olympics.5 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will greatly inspire the national pride andpromote national unity, which is favorable for the construction of agonistic morality.6 Hopefully, the strategies proposed in this thesis can provide a theoretical and methodological support for the development of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the construction of the agonistic morality.
