Research On The Model Of Volunteer Service Of Beijing Olympic Games

Volunteers are the basis for hosting the Olympic Games successfully. Olympic volunteer service model is different from the normal pattern of human resource services and other areas of volunteer service model. Under a certain ideological and theoretical guidance, Beijing Olympic volunteer service model was established, including recruitment, training, operation, encouragement and protection, advocacy, achievements implement and other relatively stable structure of the voluntary service system. It is a new milestone in the Olympic volunteer service history and promotes the Olympic Games development. Therefore, it has theoretical and practical significance by researching the Beijing Olympic volunteer service model.Author researches the Beijing Olympic volunteer service mode by four aspects:the pre-Olympic volunteer service, games volunteer service mode, cities volunteer service mode, and community volunteer service mode.The paper studied the Beijing Olympic volunteer service model, and evaluated its social value and economic benefit by the methods of literature, expert interviews, and case analysis. Besides, this paper also analyzed its application in Guangzhou Asian Games. First, by following the international practices and adhering to the Olympic rules, the Beijing Olympic volunteer service model comprehensively implements the scientific concept of development, vigorously carries forward the Olympic spirit and the spirit of volunteerism; Second, Beijing Olympic volunteer service mode established the city volunteers and community volunteer programs firstly which can meet the public hope for participating in Olympic volunteer service; it enhances the public awareness of social responsibility, increased public willingness to volunteer; promotes the development of Olympic Game, and provides the basis for study the volunteer services of major sports events.
