Chemical equilibrium is one of the basic theories in middle school, and itis also a difficulty in teachers' instruction as well as students' learning. We canfind, liberal arts students have a wealthy of dim cognitions or mistakenunderstandings. In this dissertation, these dim cognitions and mistakenunderstandings are called misconception. Now, the research of misconceptionsin chemical equilibrium is mainly on science students, while there are fewresearches on liberal arts students. So, we choose this as our research subjectto explore a series of problems in liberal arts students' study in learning ofchemical equilibrium. The research focuses on four aspects: the achievements made inmisconceptions in chemical equilibrium, use the tool of two-tier to investigatethe misconceptions of chemical equilibrium, analyze the cause of the liberalarts students' misconceptions in chemical equilibrium, find conceptual changeteaching strategies in chemical equilibrium learning.A considerable amount of research has shown: before accepting schooleducation and in the course of study, children may have somemisunderstandings and puzzles. These factors always cause misconceptions. The existence of these misconceptions will affect students' understanding ofscientific conceptions and result in difficulties in students' learning. The research of misconceptions in chemical equilibrium mainly relates tothe condition of the chemical equilibrium, the character of chemicalequilibrium state and the influence to the equilibrium when condition changesetc. In recent years, some scholars use the tool of two-tier to investigate themisconceptions in chemistry learning. This dissertation uses it for reference.First, basing on the thirteen revelant conceptions concerning chemicalequilibrium, the author has developed the tool of two-tier. Then, using the toolof two-tier, the author make a spot check in the middle schools in JiNan, useExcell to count the result and analyze the misconceptions in liberal artsstudents' study in learning of chemical equilibrium.Basing on the result, the dissertation analyzes the cause of themisconception's appearance: (1) The students don't have a right understandingof chemical calculated number. (2) The students don't have a profoundunderstanding of the conception of chemical equilibrium.(3)The students arelack of adequate understanding of the situation to chemical equilibrium.(4)Thestudents are not very clear about the influence of the outer condition to thechemical reaction rate and chemical equilibrium. (5) The students don'tunderstand the Le Chatelier's principle. (6) The students don't have a firmmastery of the basal knowledge.Aiming at the cause of the misconception, the dissertation proposes someteaching strategies in promoting the understanding of the chemical equilibriumin liberal arts students' learning. It mainly includes conception map strategy, comparative chart strategy and the image teaching strategy. In the end, we preview prospect for future research along with analyzingthe problems existing in the thesis.
