With the expansion of enrollment, the number of the students entered the senior middle school is increasing. And the number of students who with difficult in math study(following referred to poor math performance students) is rising perpendicularly. While the number of poor math performance students in liberal arts classes is very large. The problem is so serious that math teachers in liberal arts classes always face the embarrassing situation that poor teaching performance, complaint from students, and criticism from leaders. Meanwhile, as one of the three main subjects, the math is very important in the university entrance exam. Some liberal arts students who had poor math performance lost confidence for the college entrance examination and even the life. And thus they lost the power of learning math. So they not only abandoned the effort, but also lost the will to overcome the difficulties and solve problems. The deep research for the problem of poor match performance students began from that "Compulsory Education Law" was fully implemented. It made some good results, but most of these studies are for senior middle school students generally, and the research focused on poor math performance students of liberal arts students is still relatively less. This paper based on the surveys for the liberal arts class students in which school the author works - Laiyuan senior middle school, northern of Baoding, learned the current situation for the liberal arts students of senior middle school: the basis for learning math and the ability is weak, the interest and confidence in learning math is weak, the attitudes and habits of learning math is poor, the ways and results are poor of learning math. And actively explored the appearance of rural poor math performance students, made a comprehensive analysis of the reasons why the art class students study math difficult. From the interest and confidence, study habits, habit of listening, habit of writing, habit of thinking, the paper put forward several ways for the corresponding improvement to help them get rid of the incorrect ideas and practices, to enhance their math learning enthusiasm and initiative, so that they can get the development and improvement on the basis of the original.
