Through the recent survey, we find that the lessons of martial art was given littlein middle schools and primary schools, the main ways for the students to acquire themessage of the Chinese martial art are by the movie and teleplay or Gongfu novels.This illustrates that the importance of martial art education has not gotten enoughinfluence to the society, for the reason the essential of martial culture has not beenrealized. Its rich cultural connotation and national spirit have not been fully realised.The mainly content of the thesis is to discuss the educational value of the martial artand its moral function, and how to develop and cultivate the martial culture in thecourse of martial art education.The origin of China martial art could trace back to the primitive times, evolvedand developed along with the history of China, and influenced by the ethnics, Chinesemedicine, philosophy, strategics, education and so on. China martial art has developedto a kind of martial culture rich and colorful in content and form, and has been onepart of the Chinese history culture with the other traditional culture. On the other side,the martial art has provided an effectual way and a form to inherit the Chinesetraditional culture and when people take part in martial art, they'll get benefit fromthis Chinese traditional culture gradually.National spirit is the best and active culture in the history of a nation, is theessential and soul of the national traditional culture. It's the power to courage andeducate and unite the countrymen. Mr. Jiangzemin said: "national spirit is the supportmainstay for a nation to exist and develop". During more than 5000 years Chinesehistory, China has formed great national spirit: patriotism is core, united, peace-loving,diligence and courage, and constantly strive to become stronger. Wushu rooted fromthe Chinese civilization and became a mature culture under Chinese culture system. Itmust be included the details of national spirit and formed its academic foundation.Teenagers are the interim period to adult, evolving the world's view, and gettingthe influence of traditional culture education and understanding national spirit. Themartial art is easy to teach and easy to learn, and easy to inspire the student's learninginteresting. At the same time the students will get the national spirit and traditionalculture edification potentially.Being one of the main-ways to develop the traditional culture and cultivate thenational spirit, Martial art education should accelerate to develop to adapt the demandof the era. Meanwhile as a system of education, it have to be developed in followingmeasures: Teaching martial art culture with the famous people and history stories;strengthening propaganda of the martial art;giving up the banal concept;reformingthe ideal of teaching to adapt the era;combining the martial art with moralityeducation;reforming the contents of martial art textbook to expand the connotation ofmartial art culture, extrude the traditional culture;cultivating P.E teachers group withinnovative idea and the traditional national spirit and national culture.
