From the 14 th to the 17 th centuries,Chinese martial arts flourished,as did the European Renaissance.At this time,Chinese wushu had taken shape,and there were many books describing the techniques and theories of wushu.A large number of manuscripts appeared in Europe,which recorded the authentic "martial arts".As a breakthrough point,this article from the perspective of history of martial arts,with 14-17th-century Chinese wushu and Europe as the research object,using literature,logic analysis and historical comparison method and other research methods,explore the historical evolution of 14-17 century Chinese wushu,14-17th-century European social background and characteristics of martial arts,14-17th-century Chinese wushu are compared with those of the European cultural similarities and differences between wushu.To study the manuscripts,technical system and social background of Chinese wushu and European martial arts treatises from the 14 th to 17 th centuries,and to discuss the inheritance,practice and development of Chinese wushu in modern times,is helpful to supplement the research content of Chinese wushu history,discover the characteristics of Chinese wushu culture,and serve the development reality of Chinese wushu.This paper makes a comparison between Chinese wushu treatises and European martial arts manuscripts from the 14 th to 17 th centuries in three aspects: origin,basic content and content characteristics.According to the research,from the perspective of the causes of creation,most of the treatises on martial arts are written on military affairs.European martial arts is a personal manual,designed to guide individual training.In terms of the basic content,the two forms of performance are unarmed and armed.Boxing is the main form of Chinese wushu while wrestling is the main form of European martial arts.Chinese wushu equipment is mixed,while European martial arts equipment is mainly sword.In terms of content characteristics,Chinese wushu are based on military studies and mature in technical theory.European martial arts focus on scientific analysis,rich in theory.In the comparison between the Chinese wushu and the European martial arts technical system in the 14 th to 17 th centuries,it is believed that "Shi" is the shaping set of wushu technical movements and constitutes the basic unit of wushu technology."Fa" is the application method of martial arts movements,forming a collection of martial arts techniques."Lu" is a collection of martial arts movement structure,forming the overall structure of martial arts technology;"Jue" is a sentence of wushu technique,which enriches the cultural connotation of wushu technique."Pu" is a collection of martial arts,which promotes the spread of martial arts techniques."Home" is a different school of wushu development,marking the continuous expansion of wushu.Among the elements and characteristics of European martial arts and technology system,"Pose" is the changing process of body posture,which constitutes the basic movement of martial arts and technology."Footwork" is the application method of footwork,which constitutes the basis of martial arts."Attack" refers to different types of attack techniques,such as chopping,thrusting and cutting."Defense" refers to different types of defense techniques,such as avoidance,disarming and blocking."Move" is the track of movement in skills and strikes,forming various techniques of martial arts."Category" are different styles of martial arts,which promote the inheritance and development of martial arts.Among the elements of the two technical systems,the Chinese wushu "Shi" and the European martial art " Pose " are the bases of the technical movements.The "Fa" of Chinese wushu is similar to the "Move" of European wushu.Chinese wushu "Home" and European wushu " Category " are different concepts of technical system.In the comparison of the social backgrounds of Chinese wushu and European martial arts from the 14 th to 17 th centuries,the differences between Chinese wushu and European martial arts are summarized.The establishment of martial arts and martial arts system provide a talent platform for the development of military martial arts;The Japanese War promoted the development of military skills.In the Ming Dynasty,the Baimeng association,the folk organization and its prosperity,the association and religion were the driving force of the development of wushu.In the European "knights jousting",knights fighting on foot,one-on-one hit,group jousting,running spurs and hitting targets with spears are the social practices of European martial arts.Judicial duels and honor duels are breeding grounds for martial arts.The attribute of martial arts is the same basis of Chinese wushu and European martial arts.In modern development,both inheritance and development of wushu should be paid equal attention to and the value of wushu should be inherited.Combine practice with reference to carry forward the national characteristics of wushu;Build a wushu exchange platform to promote the international spread of wushu.
