Starting from year 2001, a test has been taken in Xiamen that adopting independent proposition in secondary Chinese examination.The definition of "independent proposition" is a test method that students independent-analyze, independent-propose, independent-conclude after reading the articles given by the examination papers and teachers give their judgements after analyze the students answers.This testing method has a history of the rise and fall in Xiamen. The objective of this article is to search after academic significance for present high-school Chinese eduction through the analysis of "independent proposition" in reading part of Xiamen 2001-2005 high-school Chinese examination, besides, to search after the reasons of the rise and the fall of this testing method.The article consider the test questions of "independent proposition" in Xiamen 2001-2005 high-school Chinese examination as a certain case, analyze the figures that extensively collect from teachers and students of front line.The reformer were so anxious to separate themselves from slick testing model, their act were more and more apart from their initial plan, the consequence is another modelling test and case of crabs though their method of teaching and learning on testing basis can truly improve students' independent-reading-ability.At present, the case of "independent proposition" in reading part of Xiamen 2001-2005 high-school Chinese examination arouse huge echo in all quarters, after Xiamen's "independent proposition" was cancelled, there are many traces of "independent proposition" appear in lots of regions in 2005, in the meantime, "independent proposition" bring Xiamen high-school Chinese education effect more or less.
