Language environment is a basic and important factor in the whole system of teaching and learning. It plays an important role in the course of teaching and it has important influence on students. It is said by Benjamin Bloom that the teaching environment has the power that can mold and enhance students' behavior. We teachers can probe into the law of teaching and learning and raise teaching quality if we know its function and action.This thesis aims to apply the idea of National English Curriculum Standards and the SLA theories to study the teaching practice in the No.2 Middle School in Shiyan City and attempt to find an efficient way to create and optimize a favorable SLA situation.A survey of SLA environment in three senior high schools in Shiyan City shows that SLA environment for Chinese students is far from satisfactory. Through questionnaire analysis, the author owes it to teachers Reaching facilities, studies evaluation ,the lack of interest in English and monotonous study life.The author then did research into the classes in Grade Two in No.2 Middle School in Shiyan City for half a year. First, the author compares "Foreign-teacher- taught class" with "normal class" in terms of teaching facilities and teaching resources. Apparently, the students from "Foreign-teacher-taught class" are learning English in better situation. Through observations, joining in activities in and out of class, the author draws a conclusion that those who are nurtured by foreign teachers not only have better command over using English synthetically, but also have healthier psychology. They are more interested in English and look more confident and cooperative, and they have more knowledge of English culture and history. According to the National English Curriculum Standards, a senior student should own these good qualitiesIn the last part, the author thinks that introducing foreign English teachers and Multimedia Computer Assisted Language Learning means a favorable SLA situation, And it exerts an influence over the students, teachers and the school itself. But the most important thing is that we native English teachers, even the school should learn more from what the foreign teachers bring us and do our utmost to optimize SLA situation. We should learn good idea of education, good teaching methods, good systems of studiesevaluation and their passion to work. Therefore, the author suggests that systematic projects of creating the SLA environment be carried out. Four strategies can be adopted to improve the environment for English acquisition in junior high schools. These strategies are to improve the quality of teachers, perfect the system of course evaluation, enrich and broaden course resources, optimize the relationship between teachers and students.
