Learning and teaching theory is the core content of the educational psychology. Psychologists from every country are looking for the most effective way to teach and learn.Problem-based teaching theory, being the important thoughts of educational theory and rose by famous psychology Matyushkin A. M. from Russia, is aimed at prompting students to set up knowledge structure, developing the ability to solve practical problem, as well as forming critical and creative thinking.Matyushkin A. M had demonstrated the essence of problem-based teaching theory profoundly. He pointed out: the problem-based teaching is mainly based on the psychological research results about thought rule. Also he had concluded the essence of the teaching pithily in this way: students guided by teacher to seek the solution to new question, as well as learn to gain knowledge independently and grasp how to engage in the creative activity by what they have learnt;problem situation is the key of problem-based teaching, through establishing question situation, the teachers make the student experience contradictory, thus to stimulate their strong interest, and further on to solves the problem;teachers lead important role in question-based teaching.Matyushkin A. M distinguished between the concepts exist in problem situation that easily be confused and in regular exercise, meanwhile, he expounded some details in problem-based teaching deeply , such as : psychological structure ,basic type of problem situation , how to create and make use of problem situation in teaching ,the principle of problem-based teaching (including the principle of creating problem situation, controlling study process in problem situation ,and setting procedure of problem situation), and the disadvantages in group problem-based teaching.The thesis aims directly at introducing problem-based teaching theory of Matyushkin A. M. overall, and makes further analysis and proof of above major viewpoints.Lastly, author analyses and comments on the main contribution and disadvantages of problem-based teaching theory created by Matyushkin A.M. objectively, moreover, elucidates the instructive meaning of problem-based teaching theory to teaching systemreform in our country.
