With the development of wushu, music was widely used in sports training and physicaleducation in college. Although the forms and characteristics of music and phusical education, they both own the functions of educating, keeping fit, entertaining etc. and there has been adeep relationship between them since long time ago. Because the motion and course of wushuteaching are quite complex, which needs repeated practicing, students become tired easily inboring and tense exercises, which is caused by the spreading of cerebral cortex, and thuscausing the unconcentration in class, the slowliness of grasping the techniques and thequickness of forgeting. Listening to some light and encouraging music during the process ofwushu teaching and exercising is very helpful in making the sympathetic nerves of students'physical autonomic nerve system exciting, speeding the heart beating, strengthening themovement of heart and increasing the use of glycogen, and therefore, improving the bloodsupply of brain and muscles and achieving the aim of easing or reliving the restraining ofbrain. Giving full play to the positive function of background music during the process ofwushu teaching could also make the students concentrate, be in high spirits, and enhance theintensity of muscles, which would bring a good effect to wushu teaching. The following results are got by taking the freshmen who majored in physical educationof the Shool of Physical Education, Northeast Normal University as the subjects, taking twodifferent teaching methods—background music teaching method and normal teaching method, measuring the change of psychological index during the teaching process and conducting thefinal technical testing.5.1. After normal teaching, the psychological index of the students of the check group did notshow obvious significance.5.2. The four indexes of the students coming from the experimental group increasedrespectively to a different degree under the stimulation of music in the background musicteaching mode and the differences of the four indexes all showed obvious significance, amongwhich the index of motion ryhthm and that of mood showed highly obvious significance.5.3. The indexes of the middle period of the experiment of the exprimental group and those ofthe check group were all different, that is, the indexes of the experimental group were higherthan those of the check group to some degree, which proved the background music in wushuteaching is effective.5.4. Adopting background music in wushu teaching can increase the attention of students andthus enhance the studying effect. The different marks of attention, motion ryhthm and moodof the experimental group and check group showed obvious significance(P<0.05);thedifferent marks of motives showed highly obvious significance(P<0.01).5.5. The "t" value of proficiency degree and motion standard are 1.831 and 1.870 respectively,P>0.05, which indicates that there is no obvious significance between the proficiency degreeand motion standard of the experimental group and those of the check group. There is noobvious differences between the proficiency degree and motion standard of backgroundteaching and those of normal teaching. The "t" value of the coordination of strength, theembodiment of wushu's characteristics and that of the total marks are 2.290, 2.233, and 3.544respectively, P<0.05, which indicates that there are obvious significances between theexperimental group and those of the check group in the obove three aspects and thatbackground music teaching has brought good effect to wushu teaching. Finally, the passage offers a further discussion on the application of the backgroundmusic in wushu teaching and suggests that background music teaching should be applied inwushu teaching.
