In recent years, with increasing interests given to the subject of"body","body discipline"has become a research topic of practical significance. In previous studies, focus of attention has been placed on"body discipline"in terms of politics, culture and economics. Incontestably, not a theory study proves meaningful without touching the topic of"education". Therefore, the present dissertation attempts to examine body discipline in the studying field of fundamental education.Borrowing the perspectives used in education and sociology of culture, the present dissertation adopts the approach applied in the analysis of the"social text"and"historical tracing back". With"fundamental education"as the main studying field and"body discipline"as the central target of research, the dissertation explores the historical role, the affecting factors, and the application strategy of body discipline to study the reasonableness of its application in fundamental education.Based on the present dissertation tries to approach the studying topic from three different perspectives of social, human and educational development to prove the significance of body discipline. Methodologically, the present dissertation adopts the inter-disciplinary perspective. Going beyond the simple education care of previous similar studies, the present dissertation raises its value above the interest of pure education problems to the reflection of its social and cultural significance, thus to link the topic of body discipline with the development value, free nature and existing significance of the human race.Centering on the reasonableness of body discipline applied in fundamental education, the present dissertation is a breakthrough and a challenge to the conventional studies. The purpose is to find another research perspective of body discipline through theoretical analysis and to develop a new thinking on education research and practice.
