Relying on the analysis of the world-famous elite women athletes who have entered many competitions both at home and abroad such as Wang Jiao, Champion of the Second Stage in Skiing World Cup (2005-2006), BAUER, 3rd place, etc, the present paper attempts to get the Sports parameter of the skiing starting jump skills in bringing arms and raising arms through image measuring. By presenting and analyzing the Sports features of the starting jumps, this paper tries to figure out the regular patterns of these jumps so as to establish an appropriate concept to define the starting jumps in the freestyle skiing aerials, which can provide a theoretical basis for a more scientific training in skiing in the future. Therefore, it is of great importance to make a study on the starting jumps since there are hardly any thorough analysis and professional researches. Wang Jiao, Champion of the Second Stage in Skiing World Cup (2005-2006), Xu Nannan, Champion of the Fourth Stage, and Han Xiaopeng, Champion in Turin Olympics have also proved that the freestyle skiing aerials in China are developing rapidly in the recent years, which indicates that many potential athletes in China are in the hope of getting the gold medals. This paper serves to analyze the changes in the gravity resultant velocity of the athletes in the instant starting jumps, mainly from the angles and the velocities of such joints as hip joints, wrist joints, shoulder joints and elbow joints, and to illustrate the effect of swinging and raising arms on the starting jumps. In the end of this paper we come to the following conclusions:1. Bringing arms in the starting jumps shows an obvious increase in the gravity resultant velocity, while raising arms tends to show a decrease in it.2. Bringing arms in the starting jumps feels an obvious powerful increase in the physical strength.3. Raising arms in the starting jumps needs to kick the legs energetically.4. All joints of the body mainly play the role of maintaining the balance in the starting jumps of bringing arms.
