The Application Of Learning Together In Junior School English Teaching

Cooperative learning has been widely used as one of the most important teaching strategies for more than thirty years. Cooperative learning is a kind of system of teaching strategies, which has the aim to enhance students to cooperate with each other in groups with different qualities to reach concurrent learning aims and which has a foundation to reward according to the total achievements of each group. In cooperative learning many of students'abilities have been developed. Students learn how to cooperate with others with an active attitude, and they learn to respect others and how to help others. Students will have a good basis to work with others when they are adults in the society. Students know how to learn and think through cooperative learning. And cooperative learning can develop students'esteem. Students can have great belief in themselves to learn everything.There are three main parts in this thesis. In the first part, theoretic foundation of cooperative learning is introduced. Cooperative learning has wide theoretic foundation. The theories include group dynamics theories, choice theories, classroom instructional technology theories, motivational theories, cohesiveness theories, developmental theories, and cognitive elaboration theories. These theories that include different aspects of learning are solid theoretic foundations of cooperative learning. The second part is the most important part of the thesis. The practice of cooperative learning in English teaching is expressed in this part. The cooperative learning way'learning together'is adopted. And changes of the students are introduced in the thesis. Most students have changed positively in the process of practicing cooperative learning.In a word, the'cooperative learning strategies'are very important and useful to students and teachers. And we should popularize them in English teaching.
