| The reform and development of the sport mechanism of the"basketball cities"is a problem in promoting the basketball sports in China. The aim of establishing the"basketball cities"is to spur the development of the basketball sports. With the speedy development of basketball sports, the basketball sports in Jiyuan city is facing constant improvement and adjustment. By making research and investigation of the present situation of the basketball sports in Jiyuan city, this paper tries to point out its problem and makes some corresponding suggestion for the reform and development of the basketball sports in Jiyuan city.By using the methods of documentation, investigation, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, the practical situation of the social production ,the main problems in the development of basketball sports.The investigation of the basketball sports in Jiyuan city mainly includes nine aspects: the contemporary situation, management, population participated in basketball, the form of participation, motivation, training and competitions, coaches and athletes, school basketball sports. The investigation exposes many problems of the basketball sports in Jiyuan city: 1. There is no independent agency to offer guidance and effective management to sporting activity. 2. The role of grassroot basketball association was not brought into full play. 3. The sport industry develops very slow and is lack of financial sport. 4. In the process of the organization of the competition activities, pleasure and entertainment of basketball are scarcely embodied, and the population of residence participation is still small. 5 The sport gymnasiums are distributed irrationally and used ineffectively. 6. The advantage of basketball sports is not brought into full play. 7. The grassroot sport working stuffs are not professional and their thinking mode need to be changed.
