Work values are measures of people to assess or weigh job quality or significance to themselves, their living, social development and so on. Based on an open-ended questionnaire, this study analyzed all sorts of factors considered by university students when they think about the future careers. And on overviews of former studies, a theoretical hypothesis was put forward. Thus the Youths' Work Value Questionnaire that is fit for the young people were designed and the reliability and validity were tested out. Then the status and characters of youths' work value, including middle school students, college or university students and some young employees, were investigated through the formal questionnaire. In the end, this study also examined the work values literatures with the goal of integrating a variety of independent research results and providing some valuable conclusion. The main results of this study are as follows:(1)The self-made questionnaire had high reliability and fair validity. By the method of factor analysis, the research found that the youths' work value was constructed by five dimensions: safeguard and material benefits, contributiveness and collectivism, self-development, family, esteem and reputation, social relation. This was basically consistent with the theoretical hypothesis.(2)The order of ratings' mean of every dimension given by the whole young people...
