The rapid development of computer and information industry has brought about the revolutionary transformation of the information transmitting mode. The coming of the information era has changed the modern teaching method of the P.E. dramatically, and the traditional teaching methods and notions as well. The first step of the education modernization is to modernize the teaching method and educational force, as the educational force is a major means to achieve the teaching goal. Employing the multimedia CAI courseware as the supplementary means of the college P.E. to enhance the teaching quality of the P.E. class is an inevitable trend of college P.E. education reform.This paper explores the current developing and applying state of the multimedia CAI courseware in China from the angle of the changes of the students' situational interest brought by the P.E. CAI courseware. College student is the investigated subject, and many researching means have been employed. Two kinds of multimedia CAI courseware in basketball teaching have been selected as the researching material, and PESIS's Chinese revised edition as the measuring tool. Students' situational interests have been tested under the circumstances of reliability and validity gained well. The researching purpose of this paper is to uncover the diversity of the Students' situational interests brought by the P.E. CAI courseware, and the internal relationship of the elements of the physical situational interest.The result of the study shows that different styles of P.E. CAI courseware can lead to the testee's diversified situational interest. Courseware with novelty and moderate challenge will increase the testee's situational interest. Pleasure factor in courseware I can explain the 47% of the whole variables, while Pleasure factor in courseware II can explain the 56% of the whole variables. The difference of physical situational interest between male and female manifests that testee's individual basic knowledge has linear relationship with the situational interest. As male students, in the main, has more basic knowledge concerning physics and sports than female students, male students' physical situational interest level is higher than female's.
