A Study On Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Amateur Tennis Sport In Shandong Province

In recent years, along with the development of extensive mass fitness programs, tennis sport develops rapidly in our country, becoming more and more popular among the masses. Shandong is one of the major provinces of economy and physical education, but the popularity rate and the whole level of tennis sport are lower. This article studies the development of amateur tennis sport in Shandong Province with principle of combining theory and practice, using literature review, questionnaire, mathematical statistics, expert interview method, case study, and the logic inductive method, etc.. According to the sports need of the masses in the new period and the rules of the socialist market economy, the article puts forward the industrialization and marketization of club operation, and makes out the blueprint for the future development of the amateur tennis sport in Shandong. That is helpful to the development of extensive mass fitness programs and sports economy in Shandong. That also lays the solid mass foundation for the development and popularization of amateur tennis sport and competitive sports in Shandong.The study chooses subjects among amateur tennis sport groups in some prefecture-level cities, the leaders of Tennis Associations or Multi-ball Administrative Centers of Sport General Administrations in 17 cities, some colleges and universities, and amateur athletic schools in Shandong Province. The study includes: a. The basic development of tennis sport throughout Shandong Province; b. The development of tennis sport in the colleges and universities in Shandong; c. The situation of amateur youth tennis training in Shandong; d. The survey of population participating in tennis sport in some prefecture-level cities in Shandong; and e. The factors affecting amateur tennis sport.The results are as follows:I. The basic development of tennis sport in every prefecture-level cityIn most cities where amateur tennis sport develops better there are management organizations (local Tennis Association), but most cities do not take specialized responsibility for it.The distribution of the tennis courts has the following characteristics: a. Concentration of regional distribution. Tennis courts are mostly in the urban areas of the prefecture-level cities. There are few tennis courts in the counties; b. Distribution of tennis courts is uneven. There are more than 100 tennis courts respectively only in Jinan and Qingdao. The number of tennis courts in other cities varies from several to dozens; c. The facilities are mostly middle-class. Most tennis courts are plastic. Only Jinan, Qingdao and Zibo have court tennis gymnasium. In addition, there are a small quantity of cement and soil courts; d. There are not many tennis courts on a large scale (such as four courts connected together and above).
