Content: In order to foster undergraduates' professional practical abilities, on the basis of theoretical hypothesis of "cognitive apprenticeship and the development of undergraduate's professional practical abilities", This paper chooses and analyses a practical case of the localization of cognitive apprenticeship—PDIMBTS (Project Driven Instructional Model Based on Tutorial System), and explores the effect mechanism of cognitive apprenticeship on the improvement of undergraduates' professional practical abilities. It also discusses the suitable ideas and methods of improving undergraduate's professional practical abilities, from the perspective of creating instructional medels.This paper consists of six chapters.Chapter-1 Introduction Based on mastering the general trends on learner's practical abilities both domestic and abroad. This chapter proposes relevant researching problems, and describes the research significance and methodology.Chapter-2 Literature Review This chapter makes deep analysis of the study on the development of undergraduate's professional practical abilities both at home and abroad, as well as the theory and practice of cognitive apprenticeship.Chapter-3 Theoretical Hypothesis This chapter proposes the theoretical hypothesis of cognitive apprenticeship and the development of undergraduates' professional practical abilities, based on discussing the concepts of practical abilities, undergraduates' professional practical abilities and cognitive apprenticeship.Chapter-4 A Case Study: Project Driven Instructional Model Based on Tutorial System This chapter introduces the background of PDIMBTS, and explains the reasons of its chosen as a case. Based on the analysis of relevant literatures and observation, it describes the basic framework of PDIMBTS.Chapter-5 Analysis of PDIMBTS: A Perspective of Cognitive Apprenticeship Perspective Using instructional model theory as an analytical framework, this chapter makes a comprehensive and deep analysis of PDIMBTS, in terms of instructional basis, objective, condition, procedures and evaluation from the perspective of CA. Based on analyzing relevant literatures and using Delphi, it explores the effect mechanism of PDIMBTS on promoting undergraduates' professional practical abilities.Chapter-6 Conclusions to the Case Study and Inspiration Based on questionnaires, interviews and analysis of works, this chapter tests the effectiveness of PDIMBTS, and conclusions and suggestions are summarized. Meanwhile, ideas and methods on promoting undergraduates' professional practical abilities from the perspective of creating instructional models are discussed.
