| From the eighties of last century till now, improving and ensuring the teacher's quality has been the focus of American Federal Government and Professional Association.As the development of teacher professional research and the whole reform of teacher education, also from the perspective of experts in teaching field, teacher evaluation that has been ignored for a long time can be used as an important tactics to improve teacher's quality nowadays.Many school districts in U.S.implemented teacher evaluation systems using the principles identified by Danielson, such as Washoe County School district which described in this thesis.These districts employ a differentiated approach,with different procedures for novice and experienced teachers.Charlotte Danielson built teacher evaluation system on the basis of teaching framework that she put forward in 1996.In the first chapter,the author desicribes the background of Danielson's system,especially the origin of the differentiated teacher evaluation and PraxisIIIof ETS.In the second chapter, the author explains in detail Danielson's teaching framework including definition, foundation, basic content,function and application of the framework.In the third chapter, the author makes clear the teacher evaluation system that put forward by Charlotte Danielson and Thomas L. McGreal. The evaluation system was formed by three tracks. From this chapter, we can know the requirement of effective system and the operation of assessment, also we can know the evaluation standards and activities in detail.For helping understand teacher evaluation, in the fourth chapter, the author takes the Washoe School District as an example in order to study the application of the system.Finally, the author summarizes the advantage and shortcoming of Danielson's system through analyzing, then the enlightenment and suggestion for the construction of teacher evaluation system in our country.
