The research of teacher professional development in American charter school movement is a new field. In this thesis will discuss the credential policies, education, teaching experience and income level in detail.This thesis consists of six parts:The first section show that the concept of teacher professional development. With the rapid development of society, teacher professional development is a important approach to the recent education reform in American. The research of teacher professional development in American charter school movement is a new field. In this thesis will discuss the credential policies ,education ,teaching experience and income level in detail.The level of education quality is the hot in reform ,and the key of the education quality is the quality of teacher. So, make the teacher group effectively became the common way which many country choose to improve the education quality.Charter school movement is the background of charter school teacher professional development, and that is why describe charter school movement in detail. At first, show the reasons why the charter school movement happened. Second, analysis the feathers of charter school movement. Third, we investigate the headmasters, students and parents of Charter school.The fourth and fifth parts are the core of this thesis. In this two parts, discuss the credential And income situation of the teachers of charter school teachers. What is more, the teacher professional development is the most important part over this section. Where the charter schools teachers came from is the first question which the thesis concerned. And we found that 25%of them came from other profession . Second question is the credential, and we look through the common situation of traditional public school's teachers at first. And compare every aspect of credential.The last part is problem, counter plan and outlook. The teacher professional development is a newly arisen in school reform, but expose a few problem in practice process, needing to educate the further improvement of departments, schools and teachers. And it gives some suggestions to professional development of teacher in China teacher professional development.
