Relatively, the sand beach volleyball developed very quickly in the east, south region, but the northwest region was actually backward.By using the methods of documents, investigations, mathematics statistic, on-the-spot investigation, interview, this thesis has studied current situation of sand beach volleyball in Xinjiang, Ningxia, Gansu, Shanxi five provinces, the result indicated that sand beach volleyball also is in the low level, not comprehensive, the development not balanced stage at present in the northwest region.The sand beach volleyball is in the low level of location facility, the population who can participant, the mass base and the school sand beach volleyball development are weak; competition is few, and the scale is small.The people are light to the sand beach volleyball consciousness, the sports department's leadership to the sand beach volleyball sports understanding insufficient, takes with the support insufficiently, it made mass resources that may develop the sand beach volleyball left aside and waste, the infrastructure and the system construction are not comprehensive, basically safeguards are not to be perfect.The degree of development disparity is big of sand beach volleyball sports between provinces in the northwest region. Xinjiang's level has been among the best in domestic; Ningxia athletics level is not high, but the populace development of sand beach volleyball is quick; Gansu also started, is advancing gradually; Qinghai, Shanxi's development are slow.Through the investigation, to the data which obtains using the common factor withdraws the principal components, analyzed the factors that affected sand beach volleyball sports in the northwest region. In view of the sand beach volleyball sports characteristic, unifies realistic condition of the northwest region, analyzed the necessity and feasibility of sand beach volleyball development in the northwest region, and also put forwards thoughts and countermeasures of development for the northwest region.1.
