Beach volleyball is based on the particular game environment medium. The players need to be familiar flexible with the fluidity and compressibility, that is "sand sense". In recent years, "sand sense" plays a more and more important role in selecting good beach volleyball reserve forces, but there is no integrated criteria system about it, at the same time, many coaches just evaluated "sand sense" by subjective opinion which is instable and partial. It will benefit future develop of a beach volleyball player if the criteria system is built and construct the evaluating pattern. This can provide a player more theoretical basis of evaluation of training quality and talent. This essay is mainly based on literature data method, questionnaire approach, Mathematical statistics collection and analyses. The results are as below:1. The “sand sense” of the beach volleyball players, which is on the basis of physical and mental development of individuals, refers to the experience and ability of perception, learning and usage of sand. Substantially, the “sand sense” is the acquisition of complicated and specialized sense through the perception of the physical property of the sand and human body itself in motions during exercise. Only in the situation of acquisition of this specialized sense for the players, can they obtain the excellent results in the competition of the beach volleyball. The “sand sense” is not only affected and constrained by the natural factors, but also closely related to the acquired factors. To a great extent, “sand sense” can be improved by nurtured training.2. The “sand sense” is closely related to psychological and physiological factors. The systems for evaluation criteria and evaluation model of the “sand sense” are varied among athletes in different stages of age or different genders. The evaluation model for “sand sense” of the juvenile women’s beach volleyball is: Y=5.890-0.120X1-0.016X2(Y is the score of “sand sense”, X1 is multi-directions motion, X2 is right-legged static standing balance). The evaluation model for “sand sense” of the juvenile men’s beach volleyball is: Y=1.940+0.137X1+0.223X2-0.035X3(Y is the score of “sand sense”, X1 is left-legged static standing, X2 is badminton toss, X3 is repeated across for 20s). These two models have effective prediction and evaluation for the corresponding age or gender. The evaluation model for “sand sense” of the adolescent women’s beach volleyball only includes one assessment index of repeated across for 20 s.The evaluation model for “feeling of sand” of the adolescent women’s beach volleyball include there indexes: sit-ups for 30 s,standing long jump, push-up for 20 s. Nevertheless, these two models have poor prediction for athletes in the corresponding stages of age or with different genders, which remains to be further studied.
