Schools are the main places where the actions of teaching take place. Teachers arethe directors, organizers and facilitators of children's study. The action of teaching isthe action of the person who is a whole entity. Teaching isn't simply a process ofrecognizing, but a process of constructing. As a person, individual isn't a simplexrecognizing machine and performs the function of recognizing the world. Therecognition, emotion, will and action of person attend the world as a whole and takepart in the world evaluation during recognizing the world. We can conclude that theprocess of teaching is a developing movingly system which interact with recognition,action and emotion. Teacher Expectations are important factors that affect studentsduring the process of teaching. The evolving all round of current quality educationreform and the thought of emotion education entering the hearts of people deeply,cause further theoretical thinking about the Teacher Expectations and their effects.Therefore, it's very important to study Teacher Expectations and their effects.From the time when Rosenthal and Jacobson' Pygmalion in classroom that topicof teacher expectation, people put their most passion into studying TeacherExpectations and their effects. Especially, the studies on Teacher Expectation in classhad gained a series of achievements not only on the theoretical study but practicalstudy, and a series of study methods and models had been formed. TeacherExpectations are teachers' some predictive reorganization, produced based onstudents' recognition and feelings, to some results of students' behavior. The resultscaused by teacher' corresponding actions to students according to their expectations,are Teacher Expectations Effects.The thesis concluded the external and internal research achievements in theintroduction, reviewed external study achievement at first, and found that the externalresearch achievements on Teacher Expectations and their Effects are concentrated onthe effects of Teacher Expectations on the achievements of students. Meanwhile, afterresearching the internal achievements on Teacher Expectations, the thesis found that itis still at the stage of translating foreign achievements, and there were a few studyingachievements. Then, the thesis analyzed and researched the factors leading to theformation process of Teacher Expectations and the transmission of Teacher Expectations.The first part of this thesis, divided students into different groups by the standard of gender and status, depicted and analyzed teachers' action of praising and criticizing to students using the questionnaire on Teacher Expectations of Good and Brophy, found finally that teachers paid more attentions to the actions of boys in classes, and there were great differences between teachers' actions of praising and criticizing to boys. At the same time, teachers paid more attentions to the actions of cadres in classroom, and tended to treat the cadres of students in the way of praising.At last, some suggestions are given to teachers working in practice.
