Higher education shoulder the responsibility of cultivating the high quality talent for the country. Not only does it attach importance to cultivating the capability of knowledge innovation, the sense of national responsibility, mission, devotion spirits and perfect personality.In order to realize this holy goal, colleges and universities must popularize and strengthen history education, improve human quality of the undergraduate, making history education be a basic subject which every students must master.This article, from the view of establishing optional history subject and popularizing history education and elaborating its function on the improvement of students' quality, aims at solving the problems which has exposed in the course of opening an optional subject. Taking China Folk Custom Culture as an example, this article explores how to improve the teaching quality. So as to promote the development and revolution of history. At last, all of this can provide a good environment for spreading social function and achieve the aim of quality education. At the same time, it also can provide new train of thoughts.In details, this article selects several methods to make a study. Such as documentary ways, survey ways, analysis and comparison ways, case analysis ways. Its purpose is to provide reference for improving teaching effect. This article is divided into five parts. The first part is "Preface". It mainly introduces the meaning of subject research, present conditions and methods. The second part is "The present conditions of history public optional subject". In terms of survey data, this part analyzes the present conditions of optional subjects and the cause of being ignored by students. The third part is " The teaching explorations of China Folk Custom Culture ". This part takes China Folk Custom Culture, which is very successful in optional subjects, as an example. This subject make a study of fixing a goal, refining the contents, transforming the learning way, permeating the moral training, exploiting resources and so non.
