Metacognition has been put forward as a new concept in the western psychology and pedagogy for thirty years . With it, people can realize their goals ,abilities, tasks, mental state and cognitive strategies etc. Also , people can plan, adjust and control their different activities.According to the studying of metacognitive theory and the students' state and characteristics on learning senior biology ,six measures of training the senior students are raised in the text: 1 . Introducing something about metacognition; 2.Having more metacognitive experience; 3.Training the habits of study; 4. Regulating teachers' acts in classroom; 5.Improving by asking and answering questions; 6. Reporting the process of thinking. Put these measures into senior biology teaching and studying. It shows that these measures can help senior students to improve their achievements rapidly.The paper reports a sdudy that explored it's an effective way to improve senior students' achievements on senior biology by using metacognition into its teaching organically.
